Evolution of beauty
During our study on identity we will discuss the concept of beauty. The world in general defines beauty by our external appearance. The makers of Dove soap have been running a series of ads that challenges us and gives visible evidence why our perception of beauty is so distorted. Watch the following commercial and give me your thoughts in at least 50 words by Sunday 2/2. Video

Everyone's perception of beauty is different. Some people see other people and objects as beautiful and others see them as ugly. When we see things in God's perception, Everything and everyone has purpose and beauty. God created us extraordinary and wonderfully and we should not change what God put His paintbrush on.
ReplyDeleteGod made everybody in their own way an beauty, so for dove putting on all that make up, and all that editing just to get the perfect cover girl, is trying t say no regular person can fit the picture. Then people that don't believe that there beauty is fine just how god made it, will try to go buy it to look or resemble the cover girl they see. It is true everyone's perception of beauty is different but it doesn't mean we have to change how we look at our selves, because it is our body, made by the heavenly father.
ReplyDeleteThis video shows how easy it is to change someone into something they are not. People can change how a picture looks just by a few clicks. Everyone has a different perception of beauty. Girls shouldn't have to feel like they need to change to be beautiful. God made everyone unique and beautiful in their own way.
ReplyDeleteIt is my opinion that God has made all of us beautiful in our own way and this video shows to me how high we has set our standards of beauty that when it is achieved we no longer look like our real selves. This standard is what I personally call un-achievable as no one on this earth is perfect. fear that one day our perception of beauty will become so distorted that no amount of editing or makeup will let us achieve it and it will be a waste of time and money trying to.

Some people think beauty is what's on the outside, other people think what's in the inside matters, but everyone is made their own way with their own beauty. This video showed how easy it is to change someone into something entirely different on who they really are.
ReplyDeleteThe perception of beauty is different in everyone. A lot of people perception of beauty is what your face and hair looks like. Other look at your clothes to judge you, and other actually look at the inside of you. The only perception of beauty that matter is God’s and the video showed how they took a girl with acne and messy hair and made her look her beautiful according to their perception of beauty.

Most people think its just how about what your face looks like and how you dress, but there are those people who believe that it depends on the inside. The way you treat people, your integrity and your personalty. The video just showed how God sees beauty and judging someone on the outside doesn't mean that's what is on the inside
ReplyDeleteIn thought this video was interesting! It is sad to see what beauty in this society has come to. We're taught in Scripture that Beauty doesn't last forever! ( 1 Peter 1:24-25) So it is pointless for a young lady to be anxious to change the appearance of her natural Beauty! Beauty in my opinion is not show by outward looks but by a woman who reflects the presence of God!
ReplyDeleteBeauty is more than what is on the inside. People think that having the best clothes and looking good all the time that's beauty to the world not to God. Gods beauty is what people should strive to have.
ReplyDeleteevery person and everything in this world are different. whether that is in there appearance or there character. Some people may be quick to judge other people. God made everyone though and God made no mistakes so why judge. Everyone is beautiful in Gods eyes.
ReplyDeleteI actually watched a south park episode about this, anyways, this is saying that people can do anything they want with just a picture and they can do it to just a normal girl to make her look extremely beautiful but that isn't real beauty. everyone is beautiful in a different way.
ReplyDeleteEveryone's beautiful in their own ways, on the inside and out and how God perceives you is the most important. How you treat others reflects what He's done towards you and can really show the beauty in you.
ReplyDeleteTo me this video shows that people see beauty in different ways... They took someone and with all the makeup and photoshop made her a billboard cover.It shows me that anyone can be beautiful and what we see on the outside may not be whats on the inside.
ReplyDeleterealize that beauty comes in different safe in sizes.this video made me realize that we are made in gids image and we are made wonderfully. There is nobodybin this worldthat can change that no mmatter what.
ReplyDeleteI knew they were going to do this, this kind of beauty is unreal and everyone has a different kind of beauty, like i have a nice body and a nice jaw bone, but women and girls look at posters an magazines and bill boards and think i want to look like that and they try so hard that they start to not eat and hurt them selves really bad just to look like a perfect angel. you have to love what God gave you and use it to the best and if you don't like something then make peace with it

I think that this is encouraging women and young girls to look perfect and do anything to look perfect. God made everybody perfect and by wanting to alter how we look is pretty much saying that god didn't make us perfect and that he isn't perfect. Ads and other people should support each other to embrace out natural beauty and not try to hide out "flaws"
ReplyDeleteEveryone has there own idea of beauty there is external beauty and internal beauty. This Ad shows how it is so easy to mistake the natural beauty of a person.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate them addressing the fact that beauty comes in more ways than just hair and makeup, but at the same time.... their a hair and makeup company that does just that. Seems a little hypocritical.
